Young people shop faster

Social commerce is on the rise, especially among the new generation of consumers. Recent Shopify research* among Dutch consumers shows that the younger generation (18 to 34 years) is more likely to use social media platforms such as Instagram (46%), Facebook (43%), TikTok (30%) and Pinterest (30 %) to purchase than older consumers (35 years and older). Every reason for (online) entrepreneurs to respond well to Liberia B2B List  this. What should you pay attention to if you want to step into this new form of entrepreneurship? I give you 5 practical tips.

1. Choose social media

Social commerce offers companies many opportunities. The Shopify Future of Commerce 2021 report shows that 54% of younger consumers who shop at independent V  retailers are discovering new brands through social media platforms such as TikTok, Spotify and Pinterest. However, with the wide variety of platforms, it is important to choose the right platform on which you want to profile your brand. Therefore, check which generation is on which platform and choose the platform that best suits your target group and/or product. Also, don’t be afraid to choose emerging platforms and working methods, if they are relevant to your target group.

platforms that fit your brand

A good example of such emerging practices is the Liberia B2B List  livestream shopping events on social media channels . Recent research by Shopify** shows that 12% of Dutch consumers made a purchase via such a livestream shopping event in 2021. The success of these events will increase even more in 2022; almost a fifth (19%) of consumers indicate that they will make a purchase via a livestream shopping event in the coming year. An excellent opportunity, therefore, to respond to this early as an entrepreneur.
